Time Zones List
This is the main region on the TimesOwn Window. It lists the zones selected for the particular group. The columns shown may be user selected. See the View Menu to deselect and reselect the columns display preferences.
The Time Zone column initially refers to the location, typically a city referencing the particular Time Zone. This name may be edited to the user’s preference by slow clicking the preferred row twice. E.g. New York may be edited to “New York – John”, “New York Office” or perhaps “Peter Smarsky” etc.
Hovering over the Time Zone column row with the mouse cursor will display a hover tip showing the applicable Zone name and Country, regardless of any user editing. This way the Time Zone is always identifiable, even if the name is completely customised by overwriting. Time Zone duplicates may be used and named distinclty to the users preference.
The Time column always shows the wall clock time for the listed zone.
The Day column always shows the wall clock day for the listed zone.
Hovering the mouse cursor over the Time and Day fields will show the applicable Zone Name, Time, Day, Date and Time Zone Status abbreviation in the hover tip.
The Date column always shows the wall clock day for the listed zone.
Hovering the mouse cursor over the Date and Abbr. fields will detail the applicable Time, Day, Date, Time Zone Status abbreviation and Full Time Zone Status.
The Diff. column shows the difference (hours) between the Caption time and the particular rows time.
Hovering the mouse cursor over the Diff. field will show a hover tip detailing the time interval the Time Diff. is valid for.
The UTC column shows the overall UTC offset including any applicable Local time offset.
The Local column shows the Local Time Offset applicable. In standard time this will usually be 0. In Summer Time / Daylight saving time this may read something like 0:20 (20 minutes), 0:40 (40 minutes), 1:00 (1 Hour) etc. Hovering over this field will show a hover tip detailing the offset Start and End Time and Dates for the offset period shown, irrespective of the Time Zone status.
Hovering the mouse cursor over the UTC and Local fields will show a hover tip detailing the time interval the UTC and Local values are valid over. Note this may not be the same as the Diff.’s validity period as the Diff also may be effected by Caption Time Daylight changes.
The Abbr. column shows the Time Zone Status Abbreviation applicable.
